What is your viewpoint on how important knowing the origin of life is? Has figuring out what you believe is true played a major role in your life, or do you prefer to focus on what's in front of you rather than the distant past? (that's how I function). If you do think dwelling on the origin of life is important, how do you think your life would be different at this point if you hadn't, and vice versa?

I think that knowing the origin of life is important even if it may never be proved because knowing what you believe is the origin of life influences many of your decisions or ideas. My belief in Christianity has influenced much of my life and my book "The Lord of the Rings" was even inspired by Christianity. If I hadn't dwelled on the origins of life I think my book "The Silmarillion" would be very different because its all about the creation of Middle Earth, which expressed many of my ideas of the creation of Earth.
